The Valley opened to foreign trekkers in 2008 so far with initiative from Trekking Agencies' Association of Nepal (TAAN). Tsum valley is rich in ancient art, culture and religion. The local people are mostly of Tibetan origin & speak their own dialect, still this valley is especially untouched to modern flavor. Due to its immaculate state and remoteness, still the ancient relics are seen. The world has gone round for the new wilderness and seeks for new achievement but this hidden valley had been detached from all plumpness for centuries. As a result the unique culture of this valley has remained intact.
